If you feel as though your hips need some trimming, I have two exercises that'll do the job nicely. You should be seeing results in days and significant results over weeks; however, it still comes down to your ability to continue these exercises everyday for at least 20 minutes. Don't think these exercises will work miracles on your hips, creating a slender and curvy waist in days. To successfully lose weight, you must have determination and patience. If you manage to fulfill a combined 20 minutes a day, then you should be seeing the results you want soon.

Hula-Hoops

Hula-Hoops are a great way to exercise the waist; it focuses solely on the hip region and therefore speeds up the process. You will probably need a hula-hoop that was designed for exercise and not for fun or amusement. Some hula-hoops are built for small children as a way to have fun, these are made of plastic and weight very little so they won't be much help in losing weight. Try getting a weighted hula-hoop at Wal-Mart or other suppliers, they generally weight much more and are sometimes made of hardened or condensed foam. You should aim to do this exercise for 10-15 minutes depending on how urgent you are to see results. Try to perform this with a distraction on hand; while you're watching TV is a great time for this exercise.

Side Kicks

This is also another great exercise to help lose weight around the hips. Much like the one above, it also targets only the tips so it produces result in a hurry. Be sure not to kick too hard as it may tear a ligament and make sure you do a proper warm-up before conducting this exercise. Try to do this after the Hula-Hoop work out so there will be no need to waste time on warm-ups. You should aim for 2 sets of between 8-10 kicks in roughly 30.

If you willingly perform these exercises everyday you should be seeing small results in days and significant results in weeks.
